Gettin' Out

Do kids need a little extra motivation to get outside? This bouncy song is it! “Roll in the grass. Play with the dog. Run through the brook. Hop on a log.” Kids practice rhythm, rhyme, and language skills, as they get oodles of ideas for outdoor entertainment—way, way beyond just tossing a ball. It might even make a great weekend morning wake-up call!

Lyrics:
Gettin’ Out Oh, in the morning, get out of bed, I touch my toes and rub my head. I blow my nose, head out the door, So many things to explore. Roll in the grass. Play with the dog. Run through the brook. Hop on a log. Get all my friends, play hide and seek. I count to ten, and I won’t peek. A getting out, getting out, I love getting out. Getting out, getting out, I love getting out. Getting out, getting out, I love getting out. I love getting out. I grab my mitt, and play some ball. Jump in the leaves in the fall. Set up a tent in my backyard And sleeping bags under the stars. A getting out, getting out, I love getting out. Getting out, getting out, I love getting out. Getting out, getting out, I love getting out. I love getting out. Getting out is always fun. Getting out is such a joy. Playing in the sun with all the girls and the boys, We start out in the morning and play the whole day through. And when tomorrow comes, well, we know just what to do. We know just what to do. We know just what to do. YEAH! It doesn’t matter what we play. We’re outside, that’s ok. Growing up, and having fun, Come on outdoors, we’ve just begun. A getting out, getting out, I love getting out. Getting out, getting out, I love getting out. Getting out, getting out, I love getting out. I love getting out. I love getting out. I love getting out. I love getting out. Music By: Glenn Bulthuis Performed By: Glenn Bulthuis
