Mean Ol' Dog

“I’m a mean, ol’ dog. I like to growl. When the moon comes out, you can hear me howl.” This cranky hound begins to change his tune when someone wants to be his pal. “Oh, can’t you see, I want to be your friend?” Soon his growling life comes to an end! Kids playfully work on rhyme, rhythm, and vocabulary as they hear grumpy turn into friendly.

Lyrics:
Mean Ol’ Dog I’m a mean, ol’ dog. I like to growl. When the moon comes out, you can hear me howl. And when I bark, everybody runs and hides. Ha ha. I’m a mean, ol’ guy. Grrr... I like making noise. It never fails when I’m pushing over garbage pails. And when I bark, the children, they all run. And it’s loads of fun. Ha Ha...Grrrr... Hey, Mr. Doggie, don’t you be so mean to me. Oh, can’t you see, I want to be your friend? Mr. Doggie, there’s so much that we could do. Come to my school. You’d do so well at show and tell. Me? At your school? At show and tell? You’d have a lot of fun. Say, I’d like that. Well, I’m not such a mean, ol’ dog. I’ve made some friends. My growling life is at an end. I’m a friendly dog. I like it rather well At show and tell.
